THE GIBSON ROOM, USHG

The Redbury Hotel, once the first women’s hotel in NYC in the early 1900s, now homes The Gibson Room. Named after its noted architect, the identity embraces the new, while paying homage to this landmarks past. As the birthplace of the Interurban Woman Suffrage Council, The Redbury played a central role in the movement towards votes for women. Many film stars also called it their home, like the one and only Veronica Lake, and Ziegfield Girl, Lulu Brooks. Though you’d never guess it. The understated event space needed some visual help to highlight its remarkable story via a flashy logo/menu design. By weaving in some of the glamour of its past residents, The Gibson Room’s history comes back to life.
